DIY Fabric Bookshelf

So when I saw this tutorial on Pinterest this week on fabric bookshelves, I knew that I had to make one to go above Violet's bed! The girl loves her bedtime stories, so having her books close by is a fantastic asset!

It took about $12 worth of supplies (and I used fabric that I had leftover from another house project).

I was able to finish the whole project in about an hour, and that included sewing the fabric pouch for the books and installing the window treatment hardware above Violet's bed.

Totally love this! I have been trying to figure out what exactly I could put over her bed that she wouldn't bonk her head on.

Now it is time to rest. I am feeling a little under the weather and think that a nap is in order :)

That's an incredible idea. And I love your fabric choice too. :)

Oh how I love this post let me count the ways...

1) The bookshelf is so clever and cute. My daughter loves to read in bed too, when she gets a little older and I can trust her not to pull the shelves out of the wall I might give this idea a spin.

2) That octopus lamp is about the cutest thing I have seen on the internet in a good long while.

3) Love the clipboards as an art display. I have never thought about using them in my kids room. My daughter is constantly bringing home art from school and this would be a spiffy way to display them.
