skirt flirt

I love skirts. Don't you? It just so happens that I went to Anthropologie over the weekend and used my birthday giftcard to buy a special skirt! The Amhara Skirt was love at first sight. I knew I had to have it. And somehow my shapely behind fit into a size 8. 

It is a magical, happy, 2 pockets full of sunshine skirt.

And I love it.

I have been working on setting up a more "professional" website for myself. You all have seen the blog redesign, which I rather like! Now I wanted to show you staciebloomfield.com which will now be listed on all of my business cards and correspondence. This way all of my projects will be under the blanket of my name, Stacie Bloomfield, with links to the shop (Gingiber) the blog (GingiberSnap) and my portfolio (which is still under construction as I attempt to learn some more savvy html codes for better presentation).

Let me know what you all think! I've been working like a mad woman trying to up my game. My number 1 goal for 2011 is to make Gingiber into a full time gig. I have felt such encouragement over the past few months from all of you and from my family. I want to make my dreams a reality. Who wouldn't want to be fulfilled doing something that they love? 

Now, I must note that I am incredibly grateful for my day job (from which I am staying home from work today, because Violet has Pink Eye). However, I find that I am most happy when I am drawing and doodling my little heart away. So no matter what, I will give 100% during the day at the university, but I devote as much time as humanly possibly to Gingiber.

I recently read a fantastic blog post from Maggie over at GussySews. Wow, the girl has mad skills, not just as an artist, but her business sense is off the wall crazy good! She is like a sponge, absorbing all of the great tips and tricks available and then putting them into practice in her own business! Anyways, back to the blog post, Maggie talks about Etsy vs. Big Cartel as a venue for an online shop. Now she really has me thinking about the future of my etsy shop and if I should think about changing things up a bit! Etsy has been so good to me, but in order to continue to grow as a brand, I might need to "cut the cord" and explore other opportunities. 

Enough rambling!

nwa boutique show next weekend!

All! I know that my posts have been sparse this week, but that is because I have been busy preparing for my upcoming show here in Northwest Arkansas. I have a booth at the NWA Boutique Show in Springdale, Ar. I am rather pumped about it, as this is supposed to be a HUGE show! I have absolutely no idea if I have made enough product, but am hopeful that this show will be better than my last... meaning that I will sell product to people other than my relatives (seriously).

My Springfield, Mo friends and family: if any of you feel like making a quick 2.5 hour drive to the Springdale Ar Holiday Inn Convention Center, that would totally rock my face off!

Admission is free, and I am certain that there will be TONS of goodies perfect for Christmas Presents!

I am steadily working on my new booth (making it more sturdy, because last time a ran into some hiccups) and hoping that I have enough merch!

I am excited to be a part of the NWA Boutique Show... Friday and Saturday, November 19-20 at the NWA Convention Center in Springdale! Come shop over 130 amazing boutiques and literally thousands of custom and one-of-a-kind items!

Friday night is the "Girls Night Out" shopping event. Online tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. There will be live Christmas jazz, awesome swag bags (for the first 500), a candy buffet, hot cocoa, coffee, cider, door prizes and more! A portion of proceeds will benefit the projects of The Junior League of NWA. Check out the NWA Boutique Show's Facebook page for a link to tickets.

Saturday shopping hours are 9-6 with free admission, concessions and door prizes.
